SuperRED is a solution designed to empower small merchants (a.k.a "Tienditas") by enabling them to digitalize their inventories, sales and consumers.
Since it's launch in 2019 with a pilot of 2,000 merchants in the urban area of Mexico City (CDMX) merchants continued their digital evolution and are currently accepting utility payments.
The objective is to establish a digital ecosystem that establishes a relationship between distributor, merchants and consumers.
RESEARCH
To begin the project we coordinated with merchants and customers already using the Beta of the product. The team and I worked on defining our unknowns and focused on the main areas to explore to accomplish our goal of delivery and credit card payment for small merchants.
• Developed research protocol
• Conducted interviews with 12 merchants
• Surveyed more than 100 users of the app from it's first release
• Analyzed data to identify top priorities to solve
PROTOTYPE TESTING
After defining that a new and improved product inventory was needed to accelerate shopping via the app we decided to focus on this new user flow and of course the flow to complete payment via use of a credit card.
After completing the prototype in AdobeXD we tested multiple times using UserZoom to set our testing scenario and recruit participants from Mexico with specific user profiles (ex. Shopped online in the past 90 days, have completed purchases online using credit cards, used Rappi, Cornershop or UberEats in the past 90 days)
OUTCOME
Working in coordination with the development team in India in a 2-week sprint model the team developed the prioritized features to launch in Mexico in December 2020.
