OVERVIEW

Inflation is a problem for the Argentinian population. The value of their money diminishes with time, and it's difficult for the people to find options to safeguard their finances.

Enter, Stablecoin. Our research lead us to the proposal of a solution that would change user’s behaviors and safeguard their financial savings.

WHAT I DID

During the course of the project I wore 2 main hats, as a researcher and as one of the product designers. As part of the team, I collaborated with my peers analyzing data from different usability exercises, including interviews and surveys.

Here are my roles and tasks:

• Research execution

• Data Analysis & prioritization

• Product Design

• Prototype testing via UserZoom and Maze

PROCESS

HOW WE DID IT?

Understanding the Argentinian people and their financial problems became the primary driver in our team execution. First we needed clarity on to how is inflation affecting this latinamerican country, what are the most important problems that Argentinians need to solve? How are they solving them right now?

We also needed to understand regulation and gubernamental policies that restrict or control the buying of dollars across the country. What we found was incredibly interesting.

PERSONA

Via 10 interviews with 25-34yrs old Argentinians the team gathered enough information to create a persona that would become our design driver for the different user flows the product needed to have.

RESEARCH

In the image gallery below you can see some pieces of research that highlight the findings that lead us to focus on the specific personas, plus some of the key questions we asked about the usability and importance of the app’s functions once developed.

PROTOTYPE

After defining features we set out to continue doing usability research to improve the designs. See some examples the team designed below.

Version 1 iteration to Version 2 iteration, to simplified Version 3.

We were able to identify problems in usability with the amount of information we wanted to provide the user to understand concepts such as “Valor Protegido” which became the term we use to define the protected savings that wouldn’t be impacted by inflation. However because the term was not something they were familiar with it was difficult for them to understand. One of the main focus and methods we suggested to simplify was to use card sorting exercises to understand user’s mental models around these financial concepts.

Once we had these understanding as a native spanish-speaker we conducted exercises with the users to define terms they understand landing in the concept “Ahorro Resguardado” that became the term we continued using through the rest of the product design process.
